“Roma Pop City 60-67” exhibition at MACRO Rome

The exhibition displays over 100 works, including paintings, sculptures, photographs, installations and even art and documentary films, found and restored thanks to the collaboration of the Experimental Centre of Cinematography – Italian National Film Archive.

These works portray the city of Rome in the early ’60s, transformed and revisited through the visual imagery of the artists of the so-called School of Piazza del Popolo – although  many of the artists involved in this period have denied the existence of a single trend, this name is still used nowadays to refer to this era and the stylistic choices of the artists involved, despite the diversity in the works.
