“Instant City” travelling exhibition, now at Collège Maximilien de Sully

The exhibition is dedicated to Instant City, flagship project of the English group Archigram. In the early 1968-1969 while the society of the spectacle announced by Guy Debord causes both rejection and fascination, the “instant city” embodies the desire for an architecture liberated from any anchor, a flying and aerial city that transforms the architectural situation.

In 1963, the British architect Peter Cook founded the group Archigram with W. Chalk, D. Crompton, D. Greene, R. Herron and M. Webb. Together, they revolutionize the architectural language by introducing popular culture, advertising, science fiction and comics. (more…)
