“Let’s go to the beach!” seaside resorts from the 18th century to present day

The exhibition presents the architecture and town planning uniqueness of seashores in France from the 18th century to the beginning of the 21st century, compared to many other examples in other countries.

It also recounts the society evolution and its relationship with the coasts through different cult items. First considered as a hostile, even dangerous place, then as a place of leisure, before becoming thedestination of choice for mass tourism. (more…)
