Before the opening of Expo 2015, Milan’s activities and preparations for the big International Fair will take place in an impressive new space in the heart of the city. Through the construction of two pyramid-like structures, Scandurra Studio have transformed and re-interpreted  a large square at the end of Dante street to host the information centre and ticket booth for the Expo as well as providing an urban rehearsal for the activities and ideas that shape this year’s slogan “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life“.

Seasonless house, an “active playground” by Casos de Casas

The architects proposal for clients in Vinaroz, Castellón, is a house that consciously disassociates itself from its built environment in order to achieve one for itself –a landscape of domestic activities and possibilities on the inside of the house.

What do you expect of a house located on a Mediterranean resort city in which two different seasonal inhabitation models shift all year round? Spanish office’s Casos de Casas answer to this question is, actually, to propose a new way of living –a crossroads between compact, urban, high-density housing and laid-back, holiday home architecture. In Strasbourg , the new Maillon theater plays with openness and experimentation

The competition of Le Maillon Theatre was won by LAN (Local Architecture Network) following the idea to build a theater as a rendered process.

The competition of Le Maillon was won in April by LAN (Local Architecture Network) with a proposal based on the idea of theatre as a process, rather than a fixed structure (as they quote in their own statement “the foyer-room-logistic” triade). Their design would smoehow work as a city; it could evolve, change, and transform itself as time goes by and at the user’s will. LAN Architecture is the winner of the French National phase of the Big Mat International Architectural Award.
