“Future is Now” grand opening of the Norman Foster Foundation in Madrid

The Foundation establishes a world-class archive and inaugurates an international programme of research, education and interdisciplinary projects. The opening act brought together leading designers, policy makers, scholars, and artists in a Forum addressing tomorrow’s social, economic, and design challenges.

The Norman Foster Foundation opened its headquarters on June 1, establishing a world-class archive and inaugurating an international programme of research, education and interdisciplinary projects.

To mark the inauguration, the Foundation presented the day-long global forum Future is Now, bringing together leading design practitioners, policy makers, scholars, and artists. The Forum addressed tomorrow’s foreseeable social, economic, and design challenges and how they are affecting our interactions today with the built environment. (more…)

The gallery space beneath the Spanish Ministry is hosting an architectural exhibition on the occasion of the 1st Architectural Communication Congress organized by MaCa and the Technical University of Madrid. The exhibition, which features work by architects and designers present during the Congress’ activities and lectures but also works by other so-called architectural collectives, focuses on a new form of architectural practice whose approach to architecture is strongly related to social mediation, alternative work platforms and citizens’ associations. “Identità dell’architettura italiana” XIII International Congress at Florence

The University of Florence and it’s DIDA-Dipartimento di Architettura, with the support of Casabella Formazione, organizes the thirteenth edition of the congress, with the participation of Francesco Dal Co, director of Casabella and BigMat International Architecture Award member of the jury.
