“Studio Venezia” Belgian architect’s on-site residency in Venice

Studio Venezia is an experimental approach to exhibiting architecture, comprising audiovisual content and a week-long architect residency in the gallery space. It will take place until September 23rd, at Sant’Anna Project Space, Venice.

Project Space Sant’Anna in Venice is hosting, as from September 1st, a four-week installation and exhibition featuring the work of four Belgian architecture offices, who will also spend -in turns- a week-long residency at the gallery space.

The project, named “Studio Venezia”, was born out of the collaboration of the young Belgian architects (AE Architecten, Douma Architecten, Perneel Osten and Samenwerk) with Julie Pfleiderer and Miriam Rohde, two filmmakers who were asked to film the buildings and their users.


“Constructing Film. Swiss Architecture in the Moving Image” at S AM Basel

The exhibition invites visitors on a fascinating search for traces of moving images of Swiss architecture. In continuation of a series of exhibitions initiated in 2012 to examine the various media through which architecture is conveyed, the focus is now on film.

Here, ‘film’ is understood to mean a broad spectrum of moving visual documents. A very wide range of different technologies and film genres that depict Swiss architecture in a documentary manner are taken into account – from traditional architecture documentaries to films made with mobile phone cameras, through to real-estate advertising films. A broad definition of the term ‘architecture’ is also applied: cinematic approaches to realised buildings, planned buildings, infrastructure constructions and urban landscapes are all included. Milano Design Film Festival: third edition focuses on architecture, cities and territory

From October 15 to 18 an appointment with architecture and design returns to the big screen of the Anteo spazioCinema. The selection of more than 70 documentaries focuses on homages to indelible figures like Eileen Gray, Gio Ponti, Le Corbusier, and Alvar Aalto, among others.
