[Exhibition] “Playing With Pedagogies – The Mazzanti Team” at COAM Madrid

The exhibition proposes a space that operates under the essential strategies that make up the design process of the Mazzanti + horizontal Team. Through a changing exhibition, visitors can understand not only what we do – our finished projects – but also how we work, our processes and methodologies.

“Playing with pedagogies” will be an open space for creativity and will be presented to the public as an ephemeral workshop. It will be a space that puts the visitor at the center of the exhibition and makes it part of our narrative.

The exhibition consists of 15 mobile modules that can be arranged in multiple configurations, through which the team’s work will be presented from two parallel narratives. In the first configuration the modules are organized to generate a closed space as a classroom. A tour of uses is proposed that exposes 10 projects according to 4 categories (educational, sports, institutional and cultural). In the interior space, designed as a cinema, audiovisual material will be reproduced that will present concepts of our design processes such as co-creation, appropriation, operability and action.

This interior space will be invaded by meetings between citizens, education experts, politicians, sociologists, urban planners, and any individual who is interested in talking about education and learning and the role of these dynamics in the production of spaces.

The second configuration reorganizes the modules in a tour of design tools. With the movement of the pieces new faces are discovered that introduce three transversal concepts to our projects: modules and systems, anomalies and configuration of environments. Each of these gives rise to a spatiality where not only the mentioned projects are exposed, but exercises are proposed for visitors such as playing with pieces, drawing plans and joining points. In this way, the visitor can understand through interaction the way in which our projects are imagined.
