Teacher of teachers, Oíza left in the classrooms the essence of his thought. He was born in Cáseda (Navarra), in 1918. He graduated in Architecture in 1946 from the School of Architecture of Madrid and received his doctorate in 1965. He later expanded his studies in the US with a scholarship from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando. On his return, in 1949 he began working at the School of Architecture of Madrid, which was linked until his retirement in 1985, first as a professor of architectural projects, then as a professor and director of it. National Architecture Award (1946, 1954). He combined throughout his life the exercise of architecture with his teaching, generating new lines of thought and opening multiple paths for many architects.
