It is a thought on the possibilities that the architecture projects and design transform the conditions of the city, a place for collective life. “Visioni per Genova” is an overview of what could be and is not (or not yet), but also a reflection on the potential that design and architecture have on the perception of the spaces in the city.
“Visioni per Genova. Progetti di grandi architetti”
July 23 – September 11, 2016
piazza Matteotti 9, Genova
The exhibition, promoted by the Cultural Association Artrè Bruna Solinas and curated by architect Luca Sturolo, brings together over 100 projects of national and international renowned architects who have come and gone over the course of two centuries, from the 1800’s to the 2000’s ,featuring projects by Carlo Barabino, Gino Coppedè, Carlo Scarpa, Aldo Rossi, Stefano Boeri, OMA group, UNStudio, Ignazio Gardella and Bruno Gabrielli, to whose memory the exhibition is dedicated to. Designs and projects that have made Genova a major crossroads of architectural culture, which have developed following different paths and making exciting and diverse hypotheses.
The exhibition showcases imaginary perspective drawings as traces of the design of an urban space in continuous transformation, always powered by a will to transmit the many forms and signs of the architectureof the city; forms and signs that result, as the title says, in “visions” for Genova, a place that has been morphologically characterized by the infinite possibilities of perception: being able to place a certain point of view, bringing in a framework of harmony, harshness and dissonance.
Exhibition curated by Luca Sturolo; design of Luca Sturolo and Alba Guerrera.
