“Interpretazione di una forma” Claudio Nardulli’s form and matter at Casa dell’Architettura

The exhibition shows Claudio Nardulli’s reflections and reinterpretation of Felix Candela’s concrete shells, displaying a photographic essay done by the artist, as well as a marble sculpture which echoes the building’s shapes.

Casa dell’Architettura in Rome has inaugurated an exhibition by Italian artist Claudio Nardulli entitled “Interpretation of a form“. This exhibition, which has been curated by Barbara Martusciello, displays several photographs made by the artist in which he shares a personal view on Felix Candela‘s well known Oceanografic building in Valencia, Spain. The pictures reflect Nardulli’s interest on form and materiality.

“Maurizio Sacripanti, architect” exhibition at Casa dell’Architettura

On 6 December, an exhibition dedicated to the work of Maurizio Sacripanti was inaugurated at the Casa dell’Architettura (House of Architecture) in Rome, marking the centenary of his birth.

The event follows one focussed on Giuseppe Perugini and is the second in the series ‘Generation ’15 – ‘18’, a programme of exhibitions and conferences through which the Casa dell’Architettura aims to celebrate some of the most important Roman architects active on the national and international scene over the past century. Contemporary Swiss architecture, this fall at Casa dell’Architettura di Roma

The Casa dell’Architettura in Rome starts its fall season with a series of events dedicated to the dissemination of some of the best examples of contemporary Swiss architecture, through an exhibition and three lecture sessions.

Between October 11 and November 8, the House of Architecture in Rome (Casa dell’Architettura) will host a program of conferences entitled “Contemporary Architecture in Switzerland. New Museums and cultural centers” and the exhibition “Architecture in Switzerland. Dialogue between history and contemporary living”, dedicated to contemporary Swiss Architecture and Museums.

Exhibition on Terragni’s designs for Rome, now in Casa dell’Architettura

The main objective of the exhibition is the critical reading of the work of Giuseppe Terragni, glancing at projects that were created for the city of Rome. Special attention will be payed to projects such as  the competition for Palazzo del Littorio and the Casa del Fascio in Rione Trastevere/Monteverde.

Casa dell’Architettura in Rome is hosting an exhibition showcasing Giuseppe Terragni’s projects for the city of Rome, particularly those of Palazzo Littorio and the Casa del Fascio in Rione Trastevere / Monteverde. The extensive research prior to the exhibition’s organization was conducted thanks to many institutional and independent archival sources who have facilitated access to protected drawings and designs. the exhibition will be open until September 16, 2015.

Garbatella: revisiting tomorrow’s garden city at the Casa dell’Architettura

Until Friday the 24th of April, visitors will find drawings and explanations on Gustavo Giovannoni’s Garbatella, one of the best examples of the città leggera, a planning proposal halfway urban sprawl and garden city.

Casa dell’Architettura in Rome is being host to a small exhibition on the città leggera, an Italian expression referring to a particular kind of urban design halfway urban sprawl and garden city. Until Friday the 24th of April, visitors will find drawings and explanations on Gustavo Giovannoni‘s Garbatella, one of the best examples to fully understand this underrated style of city planning.

This Roman quarter -Garbatella- is situated in a high area between Viale San Paolo and Cristoforo Colombo, two main streets, a quiet retreat for a small town-like neighbourhood developed during the fascist period.

“Franco Purini and the art of design”. Drawings reflecting on modernism, at Casa dell’Architettura

Franco Purini’s drawings, tangent to art, architecture and design, will be on show at the Casa dell’Architettura in Rome until April 17, 2015.  The show focuses on his work, but also draws attention to the Italian tradition of “architettura disegnata” and its role nowadays.

Casa dell’Architettura in Rome is now featuring a small exhibition on the work of Franco Purini, an Italian architect, famous for his expressive drawings that join the spirit of modernist architecture, art and design. Along with the exhibition, which will be on show until April 17, the curators Pier Federico Caliari and Carola Gentilini have also organizd a short symposium, coinciding with the opening ceremony, reflecting on the Italian tradition of “paper architecture” and its contemporary role.

Designing Archeology: Bernard Tschumi, Piranesi Award 2015

Under the theme “Designing Archeology. Architecture for the Development of Archeological Heritage”, the Accademia Adriane di Architettura e Archeologia has given this years’ prize to the french-swiss architect, renowned for his research in the fields of architectural theory.

The Piranesi Award, which celebrates its thirteenth edition this year, is an award that aims to give recognition to the excellence in the fields of architecture and archeology. This award is given by the Accademia Adrianea di Architettura e Archeologia in partnership with Rome’s Ordine di Architetti and the Casa dell’Architettura di Roma.
