The initiative is sponsored by the Order of Architects, Planners, Landscapers and Conservatories of the Province of Milan. The exhibition NUB: New Urban Body aims to illustrate how the evolution of the ways of living, working, meeting and enjoying services can positively affect the transformation of the city. By evolution of the ways of living we mean the increasingly widespread attitude to experience time, space and property in a fluid and strategic way, with respect to daily commitments. We are increasingly faced with multifunctional urban organizations able to respond flexibly and adaptively to the need to build their daily schedule.
“NUB: New Urban Body – Experiences of urban generation”
November 24, 2017 – January 7, 2018
Palazzo della Triennale
Viale Emilio Alemagna, 6, Milano
Each one, in fact, organizes it according to times and dynamic ways, taking advantage from time to time of all that the city can offer. The exhibition illustrates these processes and is developed in four sections: living, working, doing and participating and belonging. NUB is conceived as a playful experience and is organized along a path guided by a game that will allow the visitor to understand the different themes in a direct and amusing way. The exhibition is free admission and will remain open from 24/11/2017 to 07/01/2018.
The evolution of lifestyles corresponds to a change in the way of enjoying space and organizing time. The new exhibition at the Triennale di Milano proposes a journey of discovery of these hybrid places through some significant interventions carried out all over the world. The new needs of contemporaneity are reflected in a different use of places, space becomes the physical terrain of social interaction and as such should be designed.
A new type of space is then developed, defined as hybrid places, parts of the city used almost daily by a wide range of human activities, it is here that people work, live, meet and have fun. For their informal component they represent the challenge of a new way of planning that the exhibition NUB New Urban Body experiences of urban generation proposes to tell.
The visitor will be transported from an interactive path into a design simulation experience designed to offer participants the opportunity to deal with the design and implementation of their own personal hybrid project.
